I am very disappointed in Yusuf’s decision to join ICL and bringing his glorious career almost to an end. I would not blame him for this move though. He was persuaded not to join ICL when he was about to which sunk him to a legal battle with ICL and deprived him $$. He was also promised that PCB will fight his legal battle with ICL which was empty promise understandably causing him a lot of anger and frustration. He has been a pray of Pakistan Cricket Board “junkies”. Ever since his remarkable runs scoring year, he has been a target of “mind games” to demolish him (PCB trademark). The appointment of Ejaz Butt to PCB is the last nail in the Pakistan Cricket coffin. Butt’s irresponsible comments and statements about Coach Jeff Lawson and later firing him (forgetting that no foreign coach was willing to take the position after Bob Woolmer’s sudden and mysterious death), It was Jeff Lawson who boldly accepted the challenge. Butt also immaturely, disclosing the details of the ICC meetings and appointing Javed Miandad as one of the board members reflects his inability to head the PCB. Javed Miandad, no doubt has been an icon of Pakistan cricket but when it comes to the decision making and finances, everybody knows his priorities. Saleem Altaf has never been a friendly administrator and could care less about the career of talented players and the future of Pakistan cricket. Intikhab Alam, just being part of the winning World Cup team does not qualify him for the coaching job. It was Imran, his leadership and his team that won the championship. One should not expect results from this team under current PCB “dummies”.
